Smart water station 'UWater'

The first prototype of UWater

After working out the blueprints for the future water station, we started looking for environmentally friendly material options for the enclosure. We’re particularly inspired by projects that make products from recycled plastic. So we decided to make the housing out of plastic caps. Using a 3D printer was quite a fun experience. But unfortunately, this version of the enclosure remained only a prototype. We found only one company able to use plastic caps for printing. All in all, we weren’t satisfied with the look and feel of our prototype. The 3D printer did not extrude enough plastic, and there were gaps between the perimeter and the insides. We played around with the settings but the printout still looked iffy. Oh well. Let’s keep looking! 🚀
